We met up with Amber and Rob at Lake Crabtree to document their engagement session one warm spring afternoon. They picked Lake Crabtree because it holds special meaning for them full of fond memories and a lot of variety for backdrops.
These two software engineers met through work while Amber was in NC and Rob was all the way across the pond in England. After working on a project together they started building their friendship through GIFs and memes and when Amber made plans to visit another friend in London these two decided to meet up in person. Five years later Rob has moved to the states and they spend time exploring nature, playing board games, and watching rom coms.
They particularly love travelling to new places, hiking on new trails, and indulging in overpriced cocktails (but I mean who doesn’t?!) In fact, hiking is so special to them that Rob proposed to Amber on a hiking trip in the Shenandoah National Park. He carried the ring around in his backpack for the whole trip and nearly lost it when the backpack fell down a slope right next to a river. Okay we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief because he recovered the backpack and found the perfect spot while they watched a sunset on a cliff on the side of a mountain!
