We met up with Felisita + Alex at Sarah P. Duke Gardens for their engagement session on a hot summer day… and I mean hot! These two have been together for an impressive 11 years – holy cow!! Felisita was new to Apex Middle School and they met in 7th grade home room. They quickly became friends and then became girlfriend/boyfriend official during 8th grade and saw Avatar in theaters for their first official date.
Now if that wasn’t cute enough, wait for their proposal story. Alex planned a spa day at the Umstead Hotel and Spa for Felisita so she could relax and get pampered which was much needed since she’s a middle school teacher! They had dinner at The Heron restaurant then went back up to their hotel room. When Felisita opened the door to their room she was surprised to see roses in the room with their song from that 9th grade dance “Nothin on You” playing – and of course Alex was there with the ring and proposed! SO STINKIN’ CUTE!!
They love spending time together watching movies, trying new restaurants out, and going dancing together! They chose Duke Gardens for the summer engagement session though because they also enjoy the outdoors and they fell in love with the gorgeous backdrops the gardens provide. Alex is able to make Felisita laugh so easily and their laughter together is so contagious! After their session we all were hungry so we headed to Mellow Mushroom for some delicious pizza and of course some pretzels + beer cheese!
