Our first spring wedding of 2023 was with Kasey + Joel at The Oaks at Salem this past March! We had a beautiful spring day with just a slight chill in the air. It had been unusually warm this past winter so we had some pretty greenery and blooms already popping up around the venue.

There was such a happy buzz to the air as we arrived ready to shoot the gorgeous details. I spotted some gorgeous napkins and immediately snagged one for all of the detail photos – wait until you see them! Kasey and Joel chose the prettiest pastel peach, pink, and purples to lend to their spring vibe. Once I wrapped up the detail photos we got Joel in his suit and Kasey in her dress. After some first looks with their parents, Kasey and Joel had their own first look together and it was such a sweet moment. All of their nerves just melted away and they shared the cutest looks.

The sun shined brightly as their guests laughed and cried throughout the ceremony. Their vows were so sweet and it’s clear they perfectly balance each other out. These two met in middle school after Joel moved to the Outer Banks. Kasey had a huge crush on him throughout their time in high school. After moving away for college and reconnecting after graduation, these two became inseparable. Kasey brings the sweet side out of him and Joel is a calming and supportive presence for her. It would be remiss if I didn’t mention their wedding was sponsored by Joel’s moving company, No Sweat Services – “We sweat so you don’t have to.”

After their lovely ceremony and some intimate couples portraits, Kasey and Joel partied the night away with their closest family and friends! Afterwards the dance floor was packed and we were all sad when the night ended. Everyone was cheering loudly as we all waved the lovely sweethearts away from the Oaks at Salem on a chilly spring evening.
