We’ve known Kasey and Steve for a couple of years now. They’re great friends with one of our previous couples and we all saw the live action Lion King premiere in theaters together! When Kasey + Steve’s engagement announcement popped up on my Facebook feed I low-key crossed all fingers and toes they would reach out about their wedding… and they did!
They met nearly 5 years ago online with a cute little message exchange. Kasey had in her profile “message me if you’ll eat the nasty green apple Skittles”. Steve replied “there are two types of people in this world, those that like green apple Skittles and those that are wrong.” They met up for drinks for their first date and chatted for hours. Kasey laughs about their first date now because Steve was out way past his usual bedtime!
We had to reschedule their fall engagement session so many times because the weather was just not liking us. We originally planned for October for fall leaves but had to move their session to early December. We ended up getting lucky with a surprising amount of fall leaves still on trees at the JC Raulston Arboretum!
Kasey + Steve are jokesters and kept us all laughing their entire session! Steve made Kasey laugh so hard she was unable to breathe. He made up an inappropriate and totally unexpected pick-up line that literally took us all off guard. Once we were all able to catch our breath we continued on with more jokes and laughs. They really wanted to showcase how goofy they are together and I believe we succeeded!
We ended their session at Heyday Brewing where we got to meet their adorable 12-week old puppy Eva. Yes, I was completely smitten from the first little puppy kiss!
Advice For Couples
“Don’t put chapstick on and then a “smudge proof” lipstick. I didn’t realize I still had so much chapstick on and my “kissproof” lipstick which is my tried and true, my ride or die ended up ALL over Steves face. It was a great color on him though.”
BAHAHAHAHA – Kasey’s not wrong there! We had to stop a couple of times to take some extra color off of Steve but it’s a funny story to think back on. I hope you enjoy some of our favorite photos from their session.
