Samantha had her bridal session at the Oaks at Salem on a really cold, snowy February day right before the pandemic shut down. Samantha was originally supposed to get married in March, so we planned for her bridal session for a month before. We somehow got super lucky and the session was on one of the only days where we had snowfall in Apex, North Carolina all winter!
We started out in the bridal suite at the Oaks at Salem to stay warm since it was just cold and cloudy outside. The Oaks has a beautiful getting ready suite that provides great light on both sunny and cloudy days so it was a great space for the session. After a few shots inside, Samantha wanted to get some pictures outside in the cold as well just to get some extra light and make use of the front porch to add some variety for her photos.
Then something magical happened: it started snowing! We all got so excited and Samantha was willing to go out and play in the snow for a few shots. Y’all, Samantha was a trooper because it was freezing cold out, snowing, and all she had on was her wedding dress. We were only out in the snow for about 15 minutes and the poor thing was shivering by the time we got inside, but even she agreed it was SO WORTH IT!! She looked like a real life Disney princess in her white gown dancing around in the fluffy snow fall and she did an excellent job not looking cold!
