Christmas tree farm engagement sessions are quite popular in the winter time and it can be difficult to find one in Raleigh that is available. Luckily we found Back Achers Tree Farm and were able to spend half of Tori + Mikes engagement session walking around through the evergreen trees! This tree farm had the perfect afternoon light that shone through and provided the most perfect warm glow.
We met Tori and Mike over Mexican food (margaritas included) and we all knew we were a perfect fit for their Halloween wedding! They described their ideas for classy Halloween décor and while also learning about how they met in New Jersey and moved down together to Raleigh for new jobs. We all chatted like we were old friends and to say I was excited about there wedding was an understatement – plus who doesn’t like the sound of a Halloween wedding?!?! I will definitely take wedding cake over trick-or-treat candy any day 😉
Tori and Mike wanted a more festive winter-themed engagement session to bring some variety into their photos, but they still wanted to make a nod to their Halloween themed wedding on their save the dates. So they brought a wooden painting of the Pumpkin King from A Nightmare Before Christmas (one of their favorite movies) for us to create some fun images with. Then we walked through the Christmas tree farm and finished off their engagement session at the JC Raulston Arboretum for a little more variety.
These two were absolutely so much fun to work with and Mike really knows how to make Tori laugh! I hope you enjoy a few of our favorite photos below of their engagement session!!
Can we also talk about Tori’s ring for just a second?! She has one of Disney’s Belle themed engagement rings, which yes we DEFINITELY talked about over dinner! She actually picked out the ring unknowingly when she went shopping with Mike’s family and they happened to go to a jewelry store and discuss what type of rings she likes! Yes, I nerded out, and yes, I am SO HAPPY I got to photograph an official Disney princess themed engagement ring!!
